IT Clips: Another use for old innertubes.
Sunday, September 27, 2009 at 12:22PM With the clarion call to "Don't toss your tubes. Re-use 'em!", IT clips offers a simple and pretty effective solution to adding another use for those old tubes hanging around the garage. The IT clip turns a road or mountain bike tube into a tie down strap suitable for moderate loads or uses. Now you are not going to replace your motorcycle rachet straps with this set-up, but it is pretty decent for holding down odds and ends as the need arises. An inner tube has its limits in strength and you are cautioned to not use a tube with tears or such as it could rip and fail.

So, here is how it works.
All packaged and ready to go.
2 clips and 2 'bungee' hooks.
Slip the cut inner tube up through the first slot.
Complete the buckle by passing the tube through the next slot. Leave a couple of inches of 'tail' for good measure.
Both buckles ready for linking.

The Bungee clips attach to each buckle if you so desire.
30 lbs of bike, no issues.
